The Shire of Sea March is the Palm Beach County branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism(SCA).
The SCA is an international non-profit educational organization dedicated to recreating the Middle Ages (defined as roughly 600 to 1600 A.D.) the way they should have been; no plagues, no poverty, and good bathrooms. Our most benevolent and virtuous members recreate all aspects of medieval life from weaving and pottery to wine making and armored combat. Indeed, if there was an activity or craft in which the humble and pious people of the world endeavored in the Middle Ages, it is very likely that one of our populace can tell you exactly how it was done and graciously show you examples of their own humble work.
The SCA has divided the Knowne World into 20 kingdoms, or regions, with over 30,000 members residing in countries around the world. The Shire of Sea March is located in the glorious Kingdom of Trimaris, which modernly encompasses all of south and central Florida and through the panhandle just west of Tallahassee. Trimaris also lays claim to Panama.

Regular Shire meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month to conduct the necessary business of governing our group. But behold! The most joyous aspect of our illustrious group is that membership is not required to join the fun! Indeed, all are welcome to attend any of our meetings and participate in any of our events. But be ye properly forewarned that it can be very easy to get hooked on us for we also have regular local combat practices where we train in the noble traditions of archery, fencing and that which we shall call “heavy weapons combat”.
Verily, if thine fancy is stricken by something you see at one of our events, meetings or practices do not be fearful to ask about it. There is always some gentle more than willing to talk about what they do. The truth be known, the hard part is getting them to NOT talk about what they do. So please peruse our website, find out when and where the next meeting, practice, training session or event will be and come join us.
For additional help participating in what we do – please contact the Shire Hospitaller or any of the Shire Officers.
